Text messages are becoming an important part of business as 80% of consumers prefer messaging as their communication method. When we built PhoneWagon, we knew we had to integrate messaging and calls into other systems like Slack and CRM.
Today we have officially launched our integration with Slack. This is a powerful integration that allows you to push call and text message data directly into slack in real-time. This enables your entire team to have visibility into the call and text message activity to ensure you don’t let any leads slip through the cracks. Let me show you how it works in 5 easy steps.
Step 1: In Zapier create a zap with PhoneWagon using the trigger “SMS Received”
When you’re creating the zap make sure you begin with the PhoneWagon app and then use the SMS Received as the trigger.
Step 2: Select PhoneWagon Account and Company Name
You now need to integrate this with your existing PhoneWagon account and select the company in PhoneWagon that you want to set this up for. If you want to do multiple companies you need to create multiple zaps.
Step 3: Integrate into Slack
Choose Slack as the action that happens after your trigger (SMS Received). Then you need to integrate with your slack account and choose “Send Channel Message” as the action. This will push the text messages to a channel in Slack.
Step 4: Customize the message
Now you can choose what information gets pushed into slack and customize the format. I like to push in the incoming phone number that sent the message as well as the message text. I add some text at the beginning to notify us that it’s a text message – “New Text Message!”. You can customize this!
Step 5: Name your zap and turn on
Now you can name your zap something like “SMS to Slack” and turn it on. You’re ready to go!

Once you get the text message notifications in Slack, you can easily collaborate with your team and respond to the texts quickly:
