Ryan has started and been involved with companies that have collectively raised over $100m in venture capital, including companies like Yext, Felix, and mHelpDesk.
He has been published in Forbes, The Huffington Post, TechCrunch, and many others. He was also in featured in Entrepreneur magazine (both print and online) for a story about raising capital.
Ryan was the Chief Operating Officer at mHelpDesk, a field service software company that helps businesses manage everything from scheduling to invoices. Ryan was a 2016 Washington Executive Management Award Winner, the prestigious award from SmartCEO for top executives in Washington DC. After bootstrapping mHelpDesk to over $1m in ARR, mHelpDesk raised a small seed round from Middleland Capital.
mHelpDesk was acquired by HomeAdvisor in August of 2014.
Prior to mHelpDesk, Ryan was an early employee at Felix, the first Pay Per Action phone call product for local businesses. Instead of paying for clicks or phone calls, businesses only pay for potential customers. It was during this time that Ryan was introduced to the world of call tracking and the value of phone calls to local businesses.
Ryan learned that call tracking, and using unique phone numbers for each marketing campaign, is essential to determine which marketing channels are driving high quality phone calls. Ryan joined Felix in the summer of 2010, shortly after Felix had raised over $20 million from the same prominent investors who have backed Google, Twitter and Netflix.
Felix was acquired by IAC in August of 2012.
